Weltweiter Fotowettbewerb zum Internationalen Jugendprogramm

Aus Anlass des 50. Geburtstags des „Duke of Edinburgh’s Award“ hat die Internationale Assoziation einen weltweiten Fotowettbewerb für Teilnehmer und Helfer ausgeschrieben. Als erster Preis winkt eine digitale Spiegelreflexkamera von „Olympus“.

Test your photographic skills to the limit by taking part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award global competition. Great prizes include an Olympus Camera worth £1,000, a years free membership to The Royal Photographic Society and the winning photographs will become the official photographs to commemorate the UK Awards 50th anniversary.

Competition Theme: The Spirit of the Award

We’re looking for photographs that represent how you see the Award. They could feature leaders, participants, activity shots or friendship images. It’s your Award – show us through your eyes! Closing Date: 30 September 2006. Finalists will be notified and the winners announced at the General Council/International Forum held in Edinburgh in November 2006.

There are three levels of entry:

• Class 1: 14 - 17 year old Award participants

• Class 2: 18 - 25 year old Award participants

• Class 3: Award Group Leader/Volunteers

There are four categories within each class for the photographic images:

• Expedition

• Physical Recreation

• Service

• Skills

• plus a 5th category: Residential (for Class 2 & 3 entrants only)

Applications can enter for more than one category but only one image per category will be accepted.

The best image for each category for each class will be awarded a certificate and will be displayed at the General Council/International Forum. These images will be entered into the Grand Final, to be judged by a panel of photographic professionals. The photographers will have the chance of winning one of the three top of the range cameras donated by Olympus:

• 1st Prize: Olympus E-1 Flash Digital SLR Camera Kit, and one year's free membership to The Royal Photographic Society

• 2nd Prize: Olympus E-300 Digital Camera Kit

• 3rd Prize: Olympus SP-350 Digital Camera Compact Camera
