IASS 2009 Introduction: Preface

This brochure is aimed to help a growing number of “Summer School Ambassadors” promoting IASS 2009. Though it is just an excerpt of the all-embracing IASS 2009 Website and will most likely never manage to be up-to-date, a printed tool more detailed than the Flyer might be a helpful “Web Companion”.

This brochure is aimed to help a growing number of “Summer School Ambassadors” promoting IASS 2009. Though it is just an excerpt of the all-embracing IASS 2009 Website and will most likely never manage to be up-to-date, a printed tool more detailed than the IASS 2009 Flyer still might be a helpful “Web Companion”.

Very much like the IASS 2009 Website, this IASS 2009 Introduction reflects upon the function and outcome of IASS 2008. Because its doors closed just a few weeks ago, to date the evaluation process is not yet completed. But as you will see, a lot of work has already been done – mainly due to Karsten, who has used a third holiday week for IASS 2008 in this way.

As everybody even in Germany knows, a picture is worth a thousand words. Hence we have also published an IASS 2008 Web Gallery with a small selection of about 100 out of more than 1000 photographs*). Its address is http://gallery.me.com/klausjvogel#100032. Like last year, IASS 2009 Presentation contains illustrating pictures, too.

Of course, Brochure, Flyer and Presentation can be downloaded in their latest versions from the IASS 2009 Website. To access it, just visit www.jugendprogramm.de, and follow the link inside the small box “Summer School 2009” on the left side. If there should still be any questions, please email it to info@jugendprogramm.de.

Like the Award, the German Award’s motto “There is more in you than you think!” originates from Kurt Hahn. As with its predecessors, IASS 2009 is aimed to make more Award leaders deeply understand it’s meaning and thus make it happen for more and more young people. So in the end it is also the motto of the International Award Summer School.

*) Thanks a lot again, Roland and all the other IASS 2008 photographers, for producing such an impressive documentation!
