Dear friends

Best wishes to all of you for a happy, healthy, and hopefully more peaceful New Year! Due to the excellent work of the European School’s Award team, the Award year is well under way as a couple of days ago  Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards were presented in Munich by the British Consul General, Simon Kendall. Thanks a lot, Judith and Jean!

There’s even more good news: Barbara E. Oehl, who is an Award leader in Luxembourg but lives in Germany, has joined our editorial team. She is an English teacher and amongst other things helps to develop and improve our materials in English. Together with Karsten she has done a lot of work on the two new leaflets attached – well done!

From 19 to 21 March 2010, the 1st Basic Expedition Training Course (BETC) is scheduled to take place in Osterburken. As we promised last October in Osterburken, the Seminar language will be English. You can now find all the details in the attached new leaflet. The deadline for registration is 5 March 2010.

The next Basic Award Leaders’ Course as well as an Award Management Course in English will take place during the 5th International Award Summer School (cf. leaflet). Please notice that there are just a few places left!

Also, as in previous years, the winner of the Award Units‘ Prize 2010 will be awarded 250 Euros, the runner-up 150 Euros and third place 100 Euros. There’s also a corresponding new flyer attached.

Kind regards,

Klaus Vogel
