Dominik Salm was one of those participants of Summer School 2009 who, in spite of a long experience as helpers for Award Leaders Courses and Expedition Courses, used the event as a Train the Trainers seminar. He is depicted here delivering a presentation during the Award Basic Course.

Only just having finished the new Train the Trainers Course at Summer School 2009, „Dome“, a graduate engineer living and working in Heidelberg, has now also assumed responsibility for this new department of the German Award Authority's extended board. Originally from Osterburken, he, like his twin brother Marco, had received his own Gold Award in April 2000 from Prince Guillaume in Schloss Zeil.
In April 2006, Dominik Salm was a participant of the first EMAS (Europe, Mediterranean See, Arab States) regional youth event in Bernheze (Netherlands), concerned, amongst other topics, with setting up a Gold Award Holders' Network. In September 2004 he had already been a German delegate at the fifth EMAS meeting in Luxembourg; in 2005 he delivered the first Award Leaders Course in Poland together with Klaus Vogel.
“I am glad that Dominik has taken on this important task,” says National Director Klaus Vogel, suggesting that with his commitment as a NETZWERK photographer, (Picture Award 2000), Canoe Guide (VDKS Course 2002), volunteer renovator of the Award House “Alte Bahnmeisterei” (since December 2002) and many international projects, Dominik is the best example for how the Award can be great fun even beyond the gold level.
