Dear friends,
As every year, the main “input” elements of the 5th International Summer School are
Award Leaders Course (ALC; Tuesday morning until Wednesday evening)
Workshop Track No 1 (Thursday morning)
Award Management Course (AMC; Thursday afternoon until Friday evening)
Workshop Track No 2 (Saturday).
According to the German Award Training System, always at least three representatives of every
Award Unit must have taken part in the ALC
Operating Authority must haven taken part in the ALC and AMC.
These are the two courses’ main contents:
Award Leaders Course: Focus is on the Award's philosophy (“What is the Award?”) and – due to its legal, security, and networking implications – the delivery of the Expeditions section.
Award Management Course: Focus is on the different management duties of an Award Unit or Operating Authorities (“How to deliver the Award”). Main topics are foundations, leadership, people and strategy.
The two workshop tracks give the participants an opportunity to relax from the tough schedules of the Award Leaders Course and the Award Management Course respectively, while at the same time broadening and/or deepening their knowledge.
On Thursday morning, participants can choose from two different workshops:
A: Local Roman History
B: Award Participants' Testimonials
On Saturday, there are two full day options offered:
A: Exploring Heidelberg and
B: Exploring the Odenwald Wild Country Area.
Best wishes,
Klaus
