All Award sections are “part” of IASS 2010 – not just “skills” through the different, courses, workshops and the international evening. There is “service” – because everybody is involved in duties like arranging meals and cleaning the kitchen; “adventure” – because the Mini Expedition involves a tour in the countryside, and “physical recreation” – because there is some guided physical activity every day.

Adventure

Mainly, there are at least three different “adventure aspects” of IASS 2010:

  1. There are team building activities, games and exercises every day.

  2. As a main part of the Award Leaders Course the Mini Expedition involves a tour of about five hours into the countryside.

  3. By “City Bound in Heidelberg” everybody can explore this famous place in an adventurous way.

Also, the journey to Osterburken or back home usually includes some adventurous aspects …

Physical

  1. Not only is everybody invited to take part in IASS 2010’s daily sports activities, but also to share his favourite physical skills with us and guide one (or more) of these (short) sessions.

  2. To enjoy these activities you should not forget to pack some essential equipment, e.g. swimming things, towel, and trainers.

  3. One individual member of the IASS 2010 Team will be announced and act as a contact person for Physical Activities.

Service

  1. Like the Award, the International Award Summer School belongs to its participants. With the help of the Summer School leaders, ultimately just they build the infrastructure “behind” it.

  2. Thus, “Summer School Service” includes

    1. Cleaning of seminar rooms, tend, kitchen, floor and toilets

    2. Keeping records of drinks and food

    3. Arranging the different daily meals

  1. One individual member of the IASS 2010 Team will be announced and act as a contact person for Summer School Service.

  2. To supervise (not: to do it by themselves) Summer School Service is one of the extra duties of Residential Project participants.

Skills

Besides the different courses and workshops in its heart, there are at the least two other “skills aspects” of IASS 2010:

  1. Presentations of the different countries during the International Evening involve different skills, too

  2. From the beginnings, participants prepare an IASS 2010 Online Documentation.
